The Museum VILLA STUCK is presenting Alice Rekabs first institutional solo exhibition in Germany. Rekab explores cultural and private narrativesstories which are advised about us and by us. The artists Irish/Sierra Leonean id serves as a place to begin to replicate on realities of life, experiences of rising up, and household histories. What form does our belonging take? The thrill and traumas of our existence are considered by the prisms of physique, household, and nation state.
The exhibition within the Ricochet sequence reveals preexisting and new work. The latter have been created throughout Rekabs 2021 AIR-M Residency on the Villa Waldberta and the 2022 Kunstverein Mnchen Peripheral Alliances Residency.
