RCMP says RCMP will not charge driver in crash involving missing woman

Police are investigating after a woman who went missing from her Halifax home last month was found dead in her vehicle.

It happened at around 3 a.m. on Feb. 15.

Police said a driver was driving the woman’s vehicle when it lost control and struck a tree.

The vehicle then plunged into a field and the woman was thrown from the vehicle.

She was not wearing a seatbelt.

“The driver of the vehicle was not seriously injured and is expected to recover,” said Const.

Matt MacLeod.

MacLeod said the driver, who has not been named, was not impaired.

“We do believe she is deceased at this time,” he said.

The case has been referred to the homicide and accident unit, and RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact the detachment at 1-866-453-2312.
