What it’s like to strike out in the American League Championship Series is a bit of a mystery to me.
As I walked into the Rogers Centre last night, I didn’t expect to find the Blue Jays batting order.
The team is led by Jose Bautista, and Bauta, who’s hitting .283, leads the team with 10 home runs.
However, the Jays have the highest strikeout rate in baseball at 22.1 per cent.
The American League East has the lowest rate at 11.9 per cent, while the AL West has the highest at 15.5 per cent of the games.
What’s the secret?
Why do the Jays lead the majors in strikeout rates but not strike out enough?
The Jays are playing their first game in six days after the All-Star break.
The Blue Jays are in the middle of a three-game series against the Royals, but the Jays are also in the midst of a two-game homestand against the Cubs.
The Jays have lost nine straight games, and have now lost three of their last four games.
I’m a Jays fan, but I wasn’t prepared for what I saw last night.
“It’s a little bit of shock for the whole team, especially me because I was expecting to see the same thing,” Jays reliever Andrew Miller said.
“[Bauta] just came in and he hit a homer off [Bryan] Morrow [in the fourth inning], so I’m sure that was the big surprise.”
Miller went on to say the strikeout numbers for the Jays were a little different from his own.
I didn’t see it coming last night when the Jays came in, and it was definitely not what I expected, and I think that’s why I was surprised when I walked out of the dugout,” Miller said in an interview with MLB Network’s Keith Law.
Bautista has hit three homers in his last four starts, and has hit five in the past seven games.
The strikeout-to-walk ratio is at the lowest in the majors at 0.98, which is a little better than the 0.94 it was at the same point last season.
The average home run rate in the AL is 1.02 per game.
While the Jays bullpen has struggled mightily this season, the rotation has been solid.
The rotation has allowed just four runs on eight hits in eight innings, while allowing two hits in two innings.
The bullpen has given up just two home runs in the last two games.
The Jays’ rotation has the third-best ERA in the Majors at 3.40, trailing only the Red Sox and Angels.
The AL Central is second-best, with the Twins third-worst ERA at 3,857, while Boston leads the majors with a 3.36 ERA.
The Toronto bullpen has allowed five runs in three games, while yielding just two hits.
So, what can we expect from the Blue Jay offense?
With Bautas power, the Blue Jays are going to have some scoring opportunities in the first half.
Bautistas homer came after the Bluejays scored twice in the fourth, but only once in the fifth.
It was the first home run of the season for Bauts rookie season, and the first of Bautis career.
Miller has a career .270 batting average, with 17 homers and a career-high 36 RBIs.
He leads the Blue Sox in slugging percentage at .917, and is tied for third in home runs at 37.
The home run came off the bat of Blue Jays pitcher Mark Buehrle.
This is the third time in three weeks that the BlueJays have gone five games without a hit.
The previous two were in the second half, and both were won by the Jays.
The last time the Jays lost four straight was April 27.
As far as the Blue jays offense goes, they are a .257 team in the ALCS.
Their batting average in the series is .308, and their on-base percentage is .364.
Bautabas OPS is .851, and he leads the Jays in runs scored with 26.
The Jays are tied for the best record in baseball in home run-to% (6.5%), but their on the road record is .223.
The season high is nine homers.
Is there a player who can’t hit the ball hard?
This season, Toronto is fifth in the MLB in homers, but they have been outhit by their opposition in the outfield.
Toronto has allowed 20 homers in the month of April, but their batting average is just .248.
Buehler has been great in center field, but Bauty has had a very solid month in right field.
Boutino has been good in right and center, but he has struggled in left.
The Blue Jays have
